Malta Individual Investor Program (Malta IIP)

Requirements for Malta IIP

To qualify for citizenship, the primary applicant must be at least 18 years of age and meet the following application requirements:

1.  Provide proof of residence in Malta and hold resident status in Malta for a minimum of 12 months prior to the issuance of a certificate of naturalization;

2.  Make a non-refundable contribution to the National Development and Social Fund (NDSF);

3.  Acquire property with a minimum value of €350,000, to be held for at least 5 years; OR lease a residential immovable property in Malta for a period of 5 years at an annual rent of at least €16,000;

4.  Invest in stocks, bonds or special purpose vehicles to be identified by Identity Malta for a period of 5 years and at a minimum value of €150,000;

5.  Acquire global health insurance coverage for at least €50,000 for all applicants. Principal Applicants can include in their MIIP citizenship application:

·  Spouse

·  Dependent children of 26 years of age and under

·  Dependent parents and grandparents over 55

Malta IIP Fees and Costs

In addition to the requirements above, the following fees and contributions must be paid in order to obtain citizenship under the MIIP:

NDFS Contribution

·  Principal applicant: €650,000

·  Spouse: €25,000

·  Each Dependent aged 0-17: €25,000

·  Each Dependent aged over 18: €50,000

Government Due Diligence Fee

·  Principal applicant: €7,500

·  Spouse: €5,000

·  Each Dependent aged 0-17: €3,000

·  Each Dependent aged over 18: €5,000

Other relevant information for the Malta IIP

·  There is a lifetime program cap of 1,800 applications (There is no time frame or deadline to achieving that limit)

·  The names of those individuals who obtain citizenship through Malta IIP program will be included in the Government’s annual publication of all naturalized citizens
